The St. Lawrence Iroquoians : corn people

What had become of the first people to tie their survival to growing corn in such northerly climes? What do we know about the day-to-day existence of these men and women who lived where our cities, towns and villages — and corn fields — stand today? This publication draws on archaeology, history and surviving Native knowledge, inviting us into these farming villages and their cosy longhouses to discover a little-known but fascinating culture, one whose actions and words are revealed today centuries after they disappeared.
